Principal’s Message
Hello Explorers!
I am extremely proud of the hard work of our students throughout the first semester. As a school, we have seen tremendous academic growth and at this time our students are outperforming last year's students in both ELA and Math based on the PM 2 that they took in December. I know that if our Explorers continue to focus on their academics, our school is going to be elevated to the "B" letter grade that I know best represents our amazing school.
During the second semester, we will continue to emphasize that our students continue to be prompt, prepared, polite, and productive. By doing so, Discovery will be a school that all students enjoy going to and want to attend. I firmly, as principal, believe that Discovery Intermediate School should be everyone's middle school choice in the Poinciana area.
The Discovery teachers believe that all of our students are capable of accomplishing so much and work hard every day to help students overcome challenges in the community, at home, and at school, allowing them to reach for their goals. As an administrator at Discovery for over ten years, I have never been prouder of a student body as I am of the current student body. I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings and successes we will celebrate!
