We have made it through the first week of the second quarter. Overall, it was a successful week! However, we did see an uptick of students not following our school-wide procedures. I'm asking that you please review our four pillars with our students; Explorers or Prompt (on-time to classes), Prepared (laptops charged and materials ready for class), Polite (not resorting to physical or verbal aggression to handle conflict and not cursing at staff members), and Productive (completing assignments and being engaged in each class). Our students that follow these expectations are very successful here at Discovery. I have one hundred percent confidence that our students will make better choices next week.
Please don't forget that there is no school on Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I ask that everyone pause and reflect on the significance of this one man's life when it came to changing our society for the better. Due to his contributions, although still not perfect, our society has made tremendous gains in terms of civil rights.
SAC Meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 6:15pm in the Media Center.
Have a great week!
