Wow! The last week of January is here! It is "lock in" time for our students and staff. Just as our staff works hard to ensure that your student is successful, we need your student to work just as hard. Report cards came out today. I encourage you to sit down and discuss your student's grades with them and make a plan to help them be successful in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Please talk with your student about the importance of paying attention in class, following expectations, and not interrupting the learning of others. As a school, we have seen tremendous FAST results throughout the year, and if everyone works hard and allows everyone to learn, I know Discovery will be a "B" school at the end of this school year. Everyone working together, we will accomplish great things.
I do want to remind everyone about the dress code. Unless a message is sent stating that pullovers are allowed, they are not allowed. Crocs and Slides are ONLY allowed on dress down days. Students should not be wearing Crocs and Slides to school for ANY reason. Students are expected to have an ID on them at all times while at school. Please remember that cell phones, smart watches, and listening devices are never allowed out of the backpacks. Although the vast majority of students are following these expectations, it is necessary for us to remind ALL students.
As always, thank you for your trust in the Discovery Team.
Your Principal
