Week of September 7-11, 2026

Picture of Principal, Mr. Gary Dunn

Hello Explorer Family!

657! That is the number of students we celebrated on Friday for not having a referral in the month of August.Β Β 94% of our students are following the expectations of being Prompt, Prepared, Polite, and Productive.Β Β I am very happy with the vast majority of our students.Β Β I am very proud of the positive behavior and positive attitudes that I am seeing and witnessing on a daily basis.Β Β Thank you for helping us reinforce the expectations we have for our students.

As we continue to get closer to progress reports being posted, please continue to encourage your students to stay engaged in classrooms and being productive at home with any assignments.Β Β It is very important for students to keep up with classwork and homework to ensure that they are being academically successful.Β Β For those new to middle school, if a student fails one subject for the year, the student is retained.Β Β Thank you all for putting academics as the number one focus for your student.

A couple of gentle reminders; students must wear their Id's on a lanyard around their necks.Β Β Please work with your student to ensure that they have a lanyard.Β Β If a student needs a new ID, please have them reach out to us and we will help get a new one (permanent, not paper).Β Β Please remind your student that the dress code must be followed.Β Β Consequences are being given for students even if they come with a change of clothes.Β Β

Students will be completing Resiliency lessons during intervention on September 10th.

Lesson 1 Honor Code: Bully Prevention.

This course empowers students toΒ create change, whether they’re engaging in
bullying, on the receiving end of it, or witnessing it in their school. Through an
interactive learning experience, students engage in true-to-life scenarios that
allow them to recognize theirΒ leadership potentialΒ inΒ preventing bullyingΒ in
their community. The curriculum helps students identify their unique talents,
grow their resilience in the face of adversity and build connections with others.
Β
Again, it has been an amazing week, and I can't wait for the celebrations that come out of next week.
