I always attempt to use this newsletter as a way to celebrate the amazing things happening at Discovery.  Today, I want to use it to ask for your assistance in reminding your student about proper actions when on campus.  This past week was a rough one with student behavior.  Although 90% of our students follow the expectations, the 10% that do not follow our expectations interrupt the learning of the others.  I need to be clear that fighting on our campus IS NOT ACCEPTABLE and the most severe consequences will be given each time.  As we continue to move the school forward, I need everyone on board with changing the reputation that the school has.  The Discovery staff along with 90% of our students work hard every day to move our school in the right direction both academically and behaviorally.  I need the other 10% to do the same.

While on the topic of expectations, please remember that students must have IDs at all times and wear them on a lanyard around their neck.  Students not doing so will receive consequences until it is rectified.  Please work with your student to ensure that this expectation is followed.

As a reminder, there is no school this upcoming Friday, 9/25.  This upcoming Monday, 9/21, at 10:00 am is another opportunity for you to learn about our Title 1 funds.  If interested, please come to the front office at that time.

As always, if there is anything you need, please don't hesitate to reach out.  I will do my best to respond and try to rectify any situation that I am made aware of.  Working together, I know we will have an amazing next week.
