It is so hard to believe that we are entering the last week of the first quarter.  Have you checked your students' grades?  Have you reached out to your students' teachers?  Have you sat down with your student to review homework or any missing assignments?  Each year, we have several families share that they didn't know their students' grades were low.  Please work with the resources that are available to monitor the progress of your student.  As always, please reach out to your students' teachers with any specific questions about grades.

As a reminder, students must wear their IDs at all times.  Please continue to work with your student regarding this important safety policy.  Students without IDs must obtain them before dismissal.  Students without an ID when it is time to board their bus will no longer be given the opportunity to get one.  Students must obtain their temporary ID during the day.  The day after my message went out, we only had one student at dismissal without an ID.  THANK YOU!

I wanted to give a shout out to our students.  For the month of December, 597 students did not earn a referral, 291 students didn't have a tardy, and 397 students had perfect attendance.  The overall average daily attendance for September was 92%.  Although short of our goal of 95%, I'm still excited to see us in the 90s.  Great job to all of our students that are demonstrating Discovery's expectations of being Prompt, Prepared, Polite, and Productive.

Have a great week!
