Hello Families, I was told that I always start with "what an amazing week it was at Discovery," so today, we will play opposite day and I'll say "what a horrible week it was!"  LOL 

Truthfully, it was another amazing week at Discovery.  This week I was able to meet with Dr. Shanoff and brag about the amazing things that are happening at Discovery.  I shared the amazing Civics data that we are seeing on this year's unit assessments, bragged about the amazing scores coming out of our ELA department, and discussed some positives we are seeing in our math and science classes.  All of these highlights are taking place because our teachers and students are locking in.  Locking in is going to be vitally important this upcoming month as we prepare to take the next round of FAST exams.  We need students engaged every day in the lessons that are prepared for the students and ensuring that students are not creating disruptions in the classroom.  I feel that great things are going to happen when our students take the FAST in December.

This weekend is a festive one for many.  I ask that you speak to your students about being respectful when out and not engaging in any illegal activity.  I encourage your students to be kids, enjoy festivities, be safe, and stay legal.  Every year, the day after Halloween, I receive reports of students being in trouble with the law.  My students, our students, are amazing students with bright futures, and they need to make decisions that will only make their future bright.
